A-R syndrome is inherited.

What are the symptoms?

Generally, there are no symptoms. It is often discovered during routine examination. Hazy vision may be a sign of glaucoma. If glaucoma develops, there is a risk of vision loss due to the damage to the optic nerve.

What is the treatment?

Generally, the focus is in controlling the glaucoma through pressure-relieving eyedrops or eye surgery to help the eye to drain. In some cases, patients may be fitted with opaque cosmetic contact lenses to improve their appearance and decrease optical distortions.
